Shokaze — short vertical video classifieds
Shokaze is an iOS classifieds app that replaces static photos with short vertical videos. Real estate, vehicles, fashion, jobs — individuals and businesses post listings in seconds, and buyers browse a TikTok-style feed with built-in secure messaging.
01The context
We built this project using a process refined over 12 years of mobile app development. The key advantage is working directly with the developer. No agency layer. No miscommunication. Just clear, focused work. The result is an app built for real users, with strong performance and easy long-term maintenance.
Shokaze is an iOS classifieds app rebuilt around the short-video format. The core idea: replace the static photo with a few seconds of vertical video so that a private seller or a pro can actually show their item — a flat for sale, a used car, a second-hand outfit — and a buyer understands at a glance what they're looking at.
Navigation borrows the proven vertical-scroll pattern popularized by TikTok. Open Shokaze, swipe up, and flip through listings in one smooth feed. Categories cover the full spectrum of classifieds: real estate, vehicles, fashion and clothing, electronics, jobs. Each card surfaces a large price, a short title, and the autoplaying video thumbnail.
02The product
In short: we mix solid technical skills with product thinking. First, we study your business needs and your users. Then we design a clear plan. We build step by step, with regular check-ins. The final app follows Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Google's Material Design standards.
The most important factor is transparency. You get regular updates and access to test builds. You see every technical choice we make. We run automated tests, code reviews, and speed checks. This ensures a reliable product from day one.
A proper search engine with precise filters — price, location (nationwide or a specific area), category — lets users drill down without breaking out of the video format. A saved-search feature pings the user as soon as a fresh listing matches their criteria.
On the seller side, posting takes a handful of taps from the built-in camera or the photo gallery. An onboarding tip screen helps first-time sellers: start the video with a catchy sentence in the first three seconds, show the item clearly from multiple angles, disclose any flaws. Listings can be edited, updated, or removed at any time.
03The outcome
Every app we deliver is built for real use. We target loading times under 2 seconds and a crash-free rate above 99.5%. We also track user satisfaction through in-app feedback. According to Statista, nearly 60% of web traffic now comes from mobile. App quality is a key business advantage.
Secure in-app messaging replaces the usual back-and-forth over email or phone numbers. Buyer and seller chat directly inside the app, with persistent history and platform-side moderation. The whole experience — posting and browsing — stays free.
This project was delivered as lead mobile developer: app architecture, a performant vertical-scroll video player, fine-tuned media cache for smooth scrolling even on cellular networks, search-filter engine, real-time messaging, and App Store submission. A concrete example of how a fresh visual format can reshape a very familiar use case — classifieds — without ever breaking the navigation patterns the mainstream public already knows.
